Iranian Forces State Strike on US Base in Bahrain, During Regional Military Operations.

Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched operations throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and continuing attack against it by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity near the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any damage is unclear and the United States has yet to issue a statement.

Missile Defenses Activated

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - stated they have shot down missiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations associated with the the regime, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

Additional Developments

In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a series of missiles," it added.

Officials reported missile fragments landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
