Our Task Is Only Killing' - How The Sudanese Vicious Fighting Force Perpetrated a Massacre

"See such effort. See this act of mass destruction," a fighter shouts.

The individual smiles as he turns the recording device on his person and his associate combatants, their paramilitary badges clearly shown: "These people are all going to be killed in this manner."

The combatants are exulting in a massacre that humanitarian officials fear resulted in the deaths of in excess of two thousand people in the Sudan's city of al-Fashir during October.

A Community Severed from the Outside

Following their control of the community under siege for nearly an extended period, from August the militia proceeded to consolidate its position and prevent access for the leftover residents.

Space-based imagery reveal that troops began to construct a massive sand wall - a built-up dirt embankment - around the perimeter of el-Fasher, closing access routes and blocking humanitarian assistance.

During the encirclement escalated, seventy-eight civilians were killed in an paramilitary assault on a mosque on September 19th, while the international organization stated 53 more were killed in drone and cannon strikes on a displacement camp in October.

In the early morning on October 26th the RSF overwhelmed the final army strongholds and captured the primary headquarters in the urban area, the command center of the Army Division, as the government forces pulled back.

One of the most horrific recordings to appear and analysed showed the results of a mass killing at a educational facility on the west of the city, where numerous corpses were seen scattered across the floor.

A senior person dressed in a robe remained alone amongst the victims. The individual looked to gaze as a combatant armed with a firearm walked along the staircase towards the individual. lifting his rifle, the shooter fired a one shot at the individual, who fell to the floor still.

"Why is this person still breathing," one combatant exclaimed. "Shoot this one."

Orbital photography taken on 26 October seemed to verify that shootings were also performed on the thoroughfares of el-Fasher, based on a analysis issued by the Yale Humanitarian Research Lab.

A key witness who spoke said they had seen "multiple of our family members being massacred - these individuals were gathered in a single location and all murdered."

Paramilitary Officers Try to Implement Damage Control

Following the events that ensued from the massacre, militia commander acknowledged that his forces had perpetrated "atrocities" and announced the occurrences would be investigated.

Included among apprehended was subsequent to a analysis documenting his murders. Deliberately choreographed and edited recording posted on the RSF's official Telegram channel show him being led into a prison room at a detention facility on the outskirts of el-Fasher.

Meanwhile, the militia and associated online profiles started seeking to reshape the story.

Posts presenting its militiamen providing supplies to inhabitants were disseminated by some users, while the force's communications team published several recordings purporting to display the proper treatment of military captives.

Regardless of the online campaign being used by the paramilitary, their actions in al-Fashir have sparked global condemnation.
