Red Bull Confirms Major 2026 Driver Line-Up: Hadjar Steps Up, Teenager Lindblad Secures Formula 1 Seat.

Red Bull has announced a new line-up for the 2026 F1 campaign, elevating Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its main squad and giving 18-year-old Briton Arvid Lindblad his first Formula 1 seat.

Lindblad, who has a Swedish father and a mother of Indian descent, will be the partner of Kiwi driver Liam Lawson at the sister squad VCARB.

These changes means Japan's Yuki Tsunoda exiting the grid after five seasons.

The New British Hope

Lindblad has been tagged as a rising talent by Red Bull since he was 12 years old.

Discussing the team's junior academy, a key advisor noted last year that Lindblad "appears very talented", highlighting his "raw pace".

Red Bull has been working for some time to prepare Lindblad for his likely Grand Prix bow in 2026, featuring runs in Grand Prix practice at Silverstone and Mexico City.

Lindblad stated it was a "dream come true", adding: "2026 will be a huge step, and I know there's plenty to absorb, but I'm eager to collaborate with the team and rise to it. I can't wait to get started."

He has won a couple of victories in F2 this year and is sixth in the standings heading into the season finale in Abu Dhabi.

A Major Opportunity for Hadjar

Hadjar's F1 career started on a low note when he crashed during the warm-up lap of the first Australian Grand Prix. However, from that point, he has been one of the stand-out newcomers of the year.

He featured an excellent podium finish at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he sits in tenth place in the drivers' standings.

The team principal commented: "Isack has shown impressive growth and proved to be a fast adapter. Crucially, he has the raw speed that is the primary necessity in this sport. We believe he can excel alongside Max."

Hadjar described it "a fantastic step" and said he felt "ready".

Tsunoda's Exit

For the seat at Racing Bulls, Red Bull have preferred Lawson over Tsunoda.

The New Zealander began the season with the senior squad but was moved back early in the year. He has found his form at Racing Bulls with some strong performances, persuading Red Bull he deserves more time.

Tsunoda, meanwhile, has been ejected after a difficult season. His highest finish is a sixth place, and he has accumulated a minor percentage of the team's constructors' championship.

The driver market moves confirm that there is also no place on the Red Bull academy for Ireland's Alex Dunne, who will remain in F2 next season.
